The Brain Charity’s Burns Night Supper postponed to June
The first Burns Night was actually also held in the summer - before moving to its traditional January date
The Brain Charity’s Burns Night Supper has been postponed to June – and will now be held on Midsummer’s Day.
Due to high COVID-19 levels, we have unfortunately made the decision to postpone our Burns Night from its original January date to Friday, June 24th.
Burns Night is traditionally marked on and around January 25th, the famous Scottish poet Robert Burns’ birthday. But research suggests the original Burns Night was actually held in the summer of 1801.
Our Midsummer Burns Night will celebrate Robert Burns’ life and poetry, and feature performances from the winners of the inaugural Liverpool Poetry Prize.
There will also be a traditional Burns Night Supper (vegan option available), recital of Address to a Haggis, whisky toast and music from a Scottish pipe band.
Tickets cost £7.50 per person, and the wearing of something tartan is strongly encouraged.
We apologise for any inconvenience, and hope you will still come along to our Midsummer Burns Night!
