The Brain Charity

Thanks to our supporters’ generosity, The Brain Charity has had its most successful Sixmas appeal yet.

We’re delighted to say our appeal has raised more than £31,500 to fund urgent mental health support for people with neurological conditions – at a time these services have never been more vital.

Central to this was our BBC Lifeline appeal. This eight-minute national TV appeal was broadcast just before Christmas, and presented by national treasure Sir Michael Palin.

Michael wasn’t the only celebrity to support The Brain Charity this Christmas. In December we received a surprise Christmas gift from Yoko Ono – an extremely rare and collectable limited edition vinyl acetate of her & John Lennon’s iconic single ‘Happy Xmas (War is Over)’. This unique record raised nearly £5,000 towards the appeal when it sold on our eBay page.

For the first week of the appeal, donations were doubled as part of the Big Give Christmas Challenge, meaning one donation had twice the impact.

This, combined with Sixmas donations made via our website, over the phone and by cheque and post, left staff at The Brain Charity blown away by the generosity of our community.
