LCFA’s first County Cup finals for 3 years bring in £1,000 funding boost for The Brain Charity
Liverpool County FA raised the funds from the sale of matchday programmes
Liverpool County FA have donated £1,000 to The Brain Charity, raised by sales of their County Cup matchday programmes.
LCFA recently held 17 County Cup finals, with the competition returning after a three-year break due to COVID-19.
Following the competition, LCFA were able to make a generous £1,000 donation to The Brain Charity, their current charity of the season.
LCFA’s Interim CEO Anthony Smith said: “As part of our 2 year charity partnership agreement with The Brain Charity, I’m so pleased that Liverpool FA are able to provide a contribution of £1,000.
“This funding has been generated through our seventeen 2021-22 Liverpool FA County Cup Finals.
“We hope that our contribution helps The Brain Charity support our local community with support and treatment of neurological conditions and provide them with the help that they need, along with their family, friends and carers.
“As our partnership continues to evolve and develop, our objective still remains – to raise awareness of neurological conditions with our grassroots football community.
“For anyone who needs advice or support please don’t hesitate to contact The Brain Charity.”
In November 2021, LCFA announced a two-year charity of the season partnership with The Brain Charity.
Together, we want to ensure more people from the grassroots football community are aware of neurological conditions and the impact they have on family, friends and carers.
LCFA and The Brain Charity will soon be launching a new dementia awareness campaign, focussing on understanding the difficulties people with dementia encounter to help them enjoy watching football for longer and raising awareness of the signs and symptoms.
Tui Benjamin Thorp, Head of Fundraising at The Brain Charity, said: “We are delighted to receive this generous donation from LCFA thanks to County Cup final matchday programme sales.
“This funding will allow us to bolster our front-line services at a time demand is higher than ever due to the cost of living crisis.”
