All donations to The Brain Charity DOUBLED until 2023

Your support for our cost of living appeal will go twice as far thanks to the Aviva Community Fund

All donations to The Brain Charity will be doubled until the end of the year, thanks to the Aviva Community Fund.

That means your £25 could become £50 to support The Brain Charity’s Sixmas cost of living appeal.

Please help us raise £16,000 so our Information and Advice service can provide vital practical support to help some of society’s most vulnerable people survive the cost of living crisis.

The Brain Charity helped more than 3,000 people affected by neurological conditions from all over the UK last year, and are expecting more people than ever to need our help this winter.

But as belts tighten, we’re facing a drop in donations. This is a way to make your support for The Brain Charity go twice as far at no extra cost to you.

All donations up to the value of £250 will be doubled – donations can be of any value, but only the first £250 will be eligible for match funding.

The cost of living crisis and neurological conditions

The cost of living crisis is hitting those with neurological conditions hardest. In January 2022, we surveyed our community and found that 1 in 3 regularly struggle to make ends meet.

Having a long-term health condition has always been expensive. On average, disabled people have extra costs of £583 each month. These costs are not optional extras – they are the essential goods and services that enable them to live their lives.

With energy prices currently skyrocketing, many of our community will be the hardest hit and are having to make the choice between heating and eating this winter.

What will your support fund

All of the funds raised from The Brain Charity’s Sixmas cost of living appeal will support our Information and Advice service, which helps people affected by neurological conditions improve their financial situation.

This includes:

  • Guiding them through the process of signing up for and using online banking services.
  • Demonstrating to them how to pay bills online and compare bill prices using reputable comparison sites.
  • Supporting them to apply for welfare benefits or hardship grants.
  • Helping them understand the importance of budgeting.
